Duties: Prepare conceptual and final construction drawings in Bentley Inroads and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Prepare project specifications in a variety of formats. Develop exhibits and maps in ArcGIS. Site civil, roadway and railroad design. Grading and drainage design and earthwork 3-D modeling. Utility sizing and design, including for storm drain, sanitary sewer, and water systems. Advanced hydrologic and hydraulic analyses (beyond rational method). Prepare applications and coordinate with permit agencies for securing approvals. Technical report writing, including design memoranda and special study reports. Coordinate the work of subconsultants of varying disciplines (i.e., survey, structural, electrical). Coordinate projects through bid and construction phases, including field visits and contractor interface, RFI responses and prepare construction field directives. Telecommuting permitted.
Requires a Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field (or its equivalent), plus 1 year of experience. 1 year of experience with CAD Modeling, MS Office, Civil design drawing practices and standards, Hydrology and hydraulics calculations, and Report writing. Requires an Engineer-in-Training certificate.
