JMA opted for a cozy Italian dinner party for this year’s holiday party at Il Fornaio. It was a great time seeing our mostly remote team in person to celebrate the holidays and the end of the year.

Here is a short video showing current construction of the Poso Avenue Shoofly that JMA designed as part of the California High-Speed Rail Program’s Construction Package 4 (CP4), supporting the design-build contractor, California Rail Builders – a joint venture between Ferrovial Construction and Griffith Company.

JMA led the design of two adjacent shooflies of BNSF mainline for California High-Speed Rail’s CP4 in Wasco.  Working closely with BNSF, a single long shoofly was modified to two shorter shooflies, which includes the Poso Avenue Shoofly seen here. Construction is underway and set to be completed this Summer.

In addition to designing over 32,000 feet of new mainline and shoofly tracks, JMA coordinated all utility relocation submittals with BNSF (45 applications), designed a 15,000-foot relocation of Level 3 fiber line through Wasco, and led the CPUC applications for 14 new and modified crossings.  JMA additionally performed independent technical review of the High-Speed Train and associated project drainage for a 3-mile segment through Wasco.

JMA is proud to be featured in the California High-Speed Rail Small Business Newsletter where we discussed recent project highlights and how the High-Speed Rail Program was a major factor to JMA’s growth over the years.

Special thanks to those on the Small Business Newsletter team for putting this together.

This video is provided by the California High-Speed Rail Authority and shows the construction updates for the program as of Spring 2022.   JMA has had various roles on several of these key projects as part of CP1 and CP4.

Earlier this week, the JMA Team was honored to be present for the first Union Pacific Railroad train to operate on the newly constructed Downtown Fresno shoofly as part of our work on the California High Speed Rail Construction Package 1.

CP1, a 32-mile stretch between Madera to Fresno, was the first significant construction contract executed for the high-speed rail program.  This package includes 12 grade separations, two viaducts, one tunnel, a major river crossing, and the realignment of State Route 99.

JMA is the engineer of record for the Tutor/Perini/Zachry/Parsons (TPZP) joint venture for the design of the three shooflies of the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) mainline in Fresno at locations in Downtown, the Westside Wye and West Herndon Avenue.  These 3 shooflies, totaling over 14,000 feet of new track, will enable the construction of four underpasses of UPRR required to establish the high-speed train alignment adjacent to UPRR through Fresno.

Great food, great wine and even greater friends–JMA is honored to have celebrated 10 years with the JMA team and those we’ve met along the way. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us.
